We are the American Legion. We just like to ride motorcycles and use that enthusiasm to help promote the American Legion in their efforts to support veterans.  Please check out the Hot Links Page for other American Legion and motorcycle sites and  information.

The District 6 American Legion Rider's meetings will now be held on the first Saturday of each month at 10:00am.  Meeting location will be Carol’s restaurant - 1201 W Capitol Ave West Sacramento, CA 95691-ph# 916-372-4631.

Meeting rules and code of conduct:

1) No arguing or speaking over anyone, we are adults and friends. If you cannot act accordingly, you will be asked to leave and find another organization. Treat each other with respect.

2) If you would like something discussed at the meeting you are to present it to any of the elected officers prior to the next meeting but not at a meeting. The officers will then discuss it and present it to the members with your approval. Otherwise, you can discuss it on your own time away from the meeting.

3) Officers will agree on the agenda prior to the meetings by email or a short meeting prior to the group meeting.

4) Meetings will be over coffee. Afterwards we will then have breakfast and talk about going for a ride.
 

Although, the ALR, District 6 is sponsored by Post 440, West Sacramento - individuals applying for ALR membership do not have to be members of Post 440, but do have to meet the requirements listed below."

Membership requirements

To be an American Legion Rider are as follows:

1) Be a current member of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion.

2) Own a motorcycle (350cc or larger) or be the spouse of an owner who is an American Legion Rider member.

Note: Must meet both 1 & 2 - Annual membership dues are $10.00 and the patch set is about $70.00

Some of the things the American Legion rider's are involved with now are:

1) Participating in the annual POW/MIA Rally held each Memorial weekend in Washington D.C. known as "Rolling Thunder"

2) Raising money for such organizations as local VA Hospitals, Battered Women and Children's Center, Varied Children and Youth programs, a School for Blind Children, and Veterans Relief programs.

3) Participating in memorial ceremonies and community parades.

4) We also participate in Honor Guard escort services for fallen heroes as well as welcome home events for returning military members.
